Rufiji River Camp

Welcome to Rufiji River camp is located on the banks of the Rufiji river, in the heart of the Selous game reserve, about 250km or 6-8hours drive from Dar es Salaam via Kibiti, and about 250km or 9hours drive from Morogoro via Uluguru mountain, and is very close to Mtemere airstrip.

Accommodation: The camp has 20 tents facing the sunset, with comfortable beds under mosquito netting, walled en-suite facilities and a private veranda facing the river; all tents have solar-heated hot water.

Facilities & services: The central structure houses a library, the restaurant & bar offering a well stocked bar and international cuisine, all with a view of the river and the sunset. The camp is powered by solar energy supported by 220-volt electricity at the bar for video camera charging, while UHV-filtered drinking water is available throughout camp (including guest tents).

A covered swimming pool is situated in the camp, between reception and mess area. Other activities include walking safaris accompanied by an armed ranger, boat safari, game drives, fishing, and fly-camping double occupancy tents with folding cot beds, mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows, and a separate toilet tent and bush shower.
