Unguja Lodge

Welcome to Unguja lodge is located close to Kizimkazi village on the quiet western side of Zanzibar island’s southern tip, about an hour’s drive from Zanzibar airport and the stone town.

Accommodation: Sitting on a small coral cliff, the lodge has total of 11 villas, with 7 sea view villas, 3 baobab villas, and the family house, all built of coral stones and lime with makuti (palm leaves) thatch. The sea view villas and the family house have a direct sea view, and each has a private terrace overlooking the menai bay.

The baobab villas are built a few meters further from the shore beneath a huge baobab tree, oriented to the garden offering more seclusion and privacy. Sea view villas & baobab villas have the following facilities in common: Spacious bedroom with double bed and mosquito netting, ceiling fan, private safe, open plan sitting room, open  plan spacious shower room,, separate toilet, loft with extra double bed. The sea view villas have in addition private terrace with a sea view, while the baobab villas are encircled  by a lush garden and have air conditioning (AC) and a plunge pool.

The family house  features a bedroom with double bed  and mosquito netting, ceiling fan and air conditioning, bathroom/toilet  en suite, open plan bathroom/toilet, open plan sitting room, sitting room inside, sea view terrace; and upstairs there are two smaller bedrooms, each with 2 single beds that can be put together to make a double bed, mosquito nets, fan and AC, bathroom/toilet en suite and shared balcony.

Facilities & services: The lodge has a bar & restaurant serving a variety of dishes blending foreign ideas with local cuisine. Other facilities include a swimming pool, WiFi network around the restaurant area, Spa treatment, a dive centre, library and laundry service. Unguja is the perfect place for a honeymoon.
